we and our allies sell them everything that they have that isn't oil, like tennis shoes, hamburgers, SUVs, and jets
they send their kids to our universities to learn how to become engineers
hundreds of thousands of them decide to immigrate here but still have family there so they fly back home to visit bringing more money
millions of them move to Europe to get jobs but still have ties to home, too
we support Israel, which pisses them off
back during the Cold War, we were always jockying for place with the Soviets and formed alliances
since the fall of the Soviet Union, we've formed other alliances
so it's all about oil, money, trade, family, friends, ideas, power, blood, religion, and alliances
