Well, some of the women I know in their 20s bemoan the reality that it is very difficult, if not impossible, for them to be full time mothers. Some few can manage it, but very few. Also, the prevelance of easy and no-fault divorce has left many women impoverished when they had expected a life of some comfort. In our state, there is no such thing as lifetime alimony except in cases where women are incapable of working. If a woman can work, she is expected to. If a woman with three young children is divorced by a man who just decides he wants to see whether he can get a better deal with a younger woman, she is expected to go to work. He may pay child support, but any maintenance (in lieu of alimony) he pays will be short term. That didn't happen to my mother's generation.
