Of course only a fool would look to history and see what happened in the aftermath of ANY SINGLE BUBBLE (Tulips, coins, the Nikkei) that has occured going back 100's and 100's of years.

Are you suggesting that it is impossible to recover from a bubble and take out prior highs over time?

What about
- the art market in the late 80s peaking with picassos selling for almost 50mm and Van Gogh 50-90mm (after a brutal crash in early 90s mkt came back and surpassed prior highs 2001)
- california real estate late 80s, same situation as above- bubble, crash and recovery to old highs post-2000.

If I misread your post I apologize but it looks like you are implying recovery is near impossible.
