Ah yes, Kofi Annan, Saddam's best friend. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the White House when they discuss this one. Just for record, the 'deal' being reached is according to the 1998 UN sanctions regime, which is far, very far, from unconditional. No force, no looking at presidential "palaces" (all 12 sq. miles of them), no looking at anything without advance notice. "Affable inspectors", as George Will called them.
