Jeter the intangible machine... fails to back up 2B on Erstad's steal (we won't even get into why the hell Soriano didn't get the throw; it is well acknowledged that he is the worst 2B in the league) then lets a not-very-hard-hit grounder three steps to his left go right under his glove for a single. excellent work Mr. Jeter did for the Angels that won't show up in the box score. they oughta put Giambi at SS and let Jeter play 1B; Giambi has more range. (btw, did you see the play by Ventura on Eckstein's bunt? great camera work by the Fox guys, showing how Ventura picked the ball up in a throwing position (i.e. two fingers on top, thumb underneath) to get the throw off in time. now THAT is how you field your position) Cheers
