Gottfried,

I hate they self important way ATT does business.

I have had an internal network for 4 years now. I originally used "Wingate" on my primary system to let the other systems share the Cable Modem.

ATT decided to do away with fixed IP addresses, so they created a program to configure your system for you. It was mandatory. Not done by a certain date, no longer have Cable Modem access.

When I ran the program, everything worked fine as far as my use of the cable modem was concerned. Unfortunately, they changed all of my network settings, including the name of my computer! So my internal network no longer functioned. It took me several hours to get both working again.

The instructions say I will be "registering" the new modem to my account. Unfortunately, the final instruction is "restart your computer".

I'll bet that's because they are messing with the network information again.

My plan is to set all securities to maximum (XP PRO), change the modem and tie it directly to my primary system and follow the instructions. That (I hope) should force the system to ask me to allow each change as it occurs. At least then I'll know them all and can figure out what to do to "correct" my network.

But not tonight. This is a weekend thing, not a weeknight thing...

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Ira

PS: On another subject. It looks like Max. Pain is a lagging indicator. On September 8, I started collecting open interest and volume data daily on AMAT, CSCO, INTC and MSFT October 2002 options. As I theorized, Max. Pain is converging on price, not the other way around. I'll get you the data when complete.
