I have been waiting to read a lenghly list of names of mutual fund managers, market analysts etc that have been sacked because of there grossly inept manner that they dealt with the BRX stock, before, during and after the fiasco. Now to read your comment that institutional managers have been told to stay clear of juniors or divest themselves from such holdings is a terrible reflection on the complete incompentence of these institutions. It is obvious they lack the desire, intelligence or expertese to evaluate market situations
And make a reasonable assessments of stock possibilities, with them all following each other around like a bunch of elephants going along trunk to tail. It is really quite incredible.

There are answers to your questions regarding lenght of times for the situations you ask about. Some one may have a fast answer. I may be able to reply in about two weeks when my walking stats person returns to town. He has gold and market related info going back 100 years.
The problems you state are not new, have been around for hears and years. If your lucky spells last a year, then again can go for 5 or 10. Uncle Sam is running this show, and good old pres. Bill no doubt has his paws in the mix.

An interesting article in Gold Eagle suggests that a new gold stasndard of 1260.00 per oz could be a possibility if a suggestion to price gold related to M1 money held by a country is weighted with gold. It gives 5 or so examples of how certasin countries would have to either buy or sell gold to maeet the figure. Interesting scenario.
