KPMG Consulting Renamed BearingPoint
Wednesday October 2, 8:24 am ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Consulting firm KPMG Consulting Inc. (NasdaqNM:KCIN - News), often confused with its former accounting firm parent with whom it shares its name, is striking out to forge a new identity by renaming itself BearingPoint, Inc..
As part of its new branding campaign, the firm will also start trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday under a new symbol (NYSE:BE - News). The firm went public and started trading on the Nasdaq last year after splitting from auditing firm KPMG LLP.

The company which provides management and technology consulting services decided to change its name earlier this year to clearly distinguish itself from the accounting industry tainted by the Enron-Andersen debacle.
