We should have waited until Hitler did something to other countries. Evil dictators need to be taken care of by their own populations, unless they begin attacking other nations. We do not want to be in the business of deciding who is evil (because we are very very bad at that- our track record is AWFUL) nor should we be in the business of removing the leaders of other countries (our own laws and international laws say this is a no no). Now perhaps you can tell the future, but I doubt it. I don't see Sadaam posing a serious global threat. Even his invasion of Kuwait (based on historic disputes of territory, and provocation on both sides) didn't pose a serious global threat. Maybe a global hiccup if gas prices had been affected, but I'm not sure even that. I wonder what would have happened if the US had NOT intervened in Kuwait. Sadaam might still be our buddy. Who knows? We have never let mere genocide help us make decisions. If we did we would be active in many other parts of the world. No, we are perfectly able to look the other way as far as genocide is concerned.
