Ambra Resources Group Inc. Announces Geological Report; Thunderbird Update

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2002-- Publicly traded Ambra Resources Group Inc. (OTCBB:ABRG) announces drilling update on the Thunderbird Unit, Well no. 1 in Karnes County, Texas.

The following report was received from the Operators Operations Manager:

BBX Thunderbird Unit #1, well #1 HOL
Flow testing

We attempted to flow test the well on 7/24/02 through a test separator. The test separator had 1" diameter dump lines (liquid discharge) and they were not large enough to handle the fluid slugs encountered. We swapped out separators on 7/25/02 to one with 1 1/2" dump lines (twice the liquid discharge capacity). All was fine on a 10/64" and a 12/64" choke, but when we got to a 16/64" choke, we swapped the separator, again. Rather than spend in excess of $5,000 per day on a higher capacity separator, we felt we had gathered enough information.

High rates were: 22 barrels of oil per half hour (1,056 barrels per day equivalent), 656 mcf of gas per day, 10 barrels of water per half hour (480 barrels per day equivalent).

We are looking at all options but may produce it through the tank battery and flare the gas at a low rate until the pipeline gets built. Remember that the other day we were testing on a much larger choke.

From my experience, this appears to be a well that is capable of producing 1,500 barrels of oil per day and 1,500 mcf/gas per day. But, with any Austin Chalk well, you have to produce them for several weeks before you can tell how good the well will ultimately be.

Further updates will be released over the next few weeks as work progresses.
