Jorj, Does Cisco not hold a near monopoly in the enterprise segment. Given how competitors are forecasting shortfalls in Revenues, could that not be a sign that Cisco is doing what Dell has for the PC market?

Dell only assembles PCs..not much innovation required either. So, Cisco has an advantage in that sense as well.

What large corporate customer would give a competitor an order in this business environment when you don't know if the small companies are going to be in business a couple of years from now.

In addition, considering how the EMS companies are suffering, Csco can really pressure them for lower costs along with the chips.

Recall how Yahoo, AOL, Netscape were really going to hurt Microsoft....then as the downturn in tech occured, MSFT is clear again, stronger than ever..no competitor. (except the stubborness in their legal battles with the DOJ in the late 1990s).
Cisco faces no such problems and will get there in the enterprise market. I was told by someone at a big company that there is really no alternative to cisco routers that he would be willing to "gamble" with.

I am preparing to load up on Cisco...dollar cost ahead of the earnings...I might wait a few more days before starting my buying..right now there is plenty of downward momentum..want to see where is stops first. I am hoping for one more downgrade near term. IMHO, it is going to be the buy of the month in October leading into earnings in November.

btw--Jorj, Is my logic flawed regarding Csco? Thanks.
