Problem with Dual Monitor set-up

I have a dual monitor set-up which was working fine with Windows 98SE. Each monitor is connected to an ATI XPERT 98 (RAGE PRO) PCI video card - each card is installed in a separate slot.

I installed Windows XP professional yesterday and ever since I did so, the primary monitor is recognized but the second monitor is not. I went into Device Manager and sure enough, it states that the second video card is not functioning. I did the recommended solution of deleting the second card and then reinstalling it - and that has not taken care of the problem.

I don't think that it is a driver issue since one of the monitors is working fine. I checked the ATI web site and it indicates that the drivers that come with the XP installation cd should work fine.

So, I am out of ideas on how to solve the problem. I don't think that the card is bad since it was working right up to the time that I installed XP Pro.

Does any one have any ideas as to what I should do to get around this problem?

Thanks.
