I don't think people are quite bearish enough yet for a major bottom, but we could get that this month. 90% downside days, a high equity PC simultaneously with a VIX spike, and more II bears than bulls (and staying that way) would convince me.

I've been wondering - the notion that bear markets END in October has been drilled into people over the last couple of years in much the same way that they were trained to buy the dips in the mid-90s by the constant mutual fund mantra that stocks go up over time. Makes me wonder if the bottom and real fear will come later.
