The you have to remember that the motivator of your behavior is YOU and YOUR intent. This gets back to the road to hell... In most states, there are Good Samaritan laws that prevent you from being sued if your intention was to provide benefit (even if the average person would have done a much better job than you did!) Those same states EXCLUDE the very people who are most ABLE to accomplish the task from Good Samaritan protections (e.g., Drs. and nurses). It motivates a doctor to pass-by an accident scene because they may find themselves in court from a botched emergency tracheotomy that leaves you mute but saved your life.
