Excellent find Jay. Thanks. <And if Greenspan pulls this off he will have truly been the Last of the Magicians for he will have averted the Great Depression that visits the earth every 60 or so years. [7]

And my wager is that he will.

For he has taken us down the path less traveled by.

And that has made all the Difference.

I reckon Adrian has it right. What has impressed me is that the crunch has been far more than I thought it would be and we are still on an even keel. Unemployment in the normal range. Production steady enough. Inflation near zero. Deflation near zero. Redeployment, restructuring and refinancing proceeding apace. No implosion. So far anyway. Argentina and individual companies and people notwithstanding. Systemically, the system is strong [or if not strong, still functioning well].

Meanwhile, the engine room of the global economy [China] continues to burgeon - as far as I can tell from here. I expect you and others would point out any problems and report back.

Sure, China is still relatively small in US$ terms, but in absolute terms of how many people are doing what, it's amazing. I really should go and do my close up and personal inspection for a reality check.
