CENTENNIAL, Colo., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OPS-OnLine Power Supply, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: OPWR, news) (OPS), announced today that its 600W 48 Volt power supply received safety certification from Underwriters laboratories Inc. (UL).

UL has completed its engineering investigation on the OPS 600 Watt 48 Volt power supply and found that the product complies with applicable requirements. A "notice of authorization to apply the UL mark" to the OPS-U-600-48 has now been issued.

OPS' sister product, the 1000W 48 Volt power supply, was approved by Underwriters Laboratories the end of May 2002.

The OPS manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico continues to work on small production runs in preparation for volume orders for the OPS-1000-48 and will now begin proto-builds for the OPS-U-600-48. OPS engineering staff has been on-site in Mexico, optimizing the assembly lines for both products.

"The OPS-U-600-48 is a universal-input, stand-alone, 600-watt, 48-volt power supply that meets the needs of a large and growing market head on," said OPS CEO Glenn M. Grunewald. "We're anxious to get our technology in the hands of our customers and prospects and see the innovative applications they come up with."

OPS holds a U.S. patent for the process of producing AC to DC power supplies that provide efficiencies of up to 97 percent, extended operating temperature ranges and above average power densities, all with no magnetic thermal deration. This innovation is called Distributed Power Magnetics (DPM) and is the first significant breakthrough in power supply technology in over 23 years. The sophisticated DPM products also boast impressive MTBF statistics, all in the lightest and smallest footprint available for their particular configurations. Benefited industries include telecommunications, data communications, networking and industrial. For additional information, visit
