I doubt if the Supreme Court will get involved with an intra-state political sparring match over which candidate makes it onto the ballot, especially so close to the election. Florida was a presidential race in which timing was ultra-important; this one just involves a single state ballot.

What the New Jersey Supreme Court basically held is that maintaining the two-party system is paramount. Period. If the Scalia Gang of Five gets involved in this one and rules 5-4 that the unanimous decision of the New Jersey Supreme Court was wrong, then there could be significant backlash ... another example of five right-wingers in black robes in D.C. determining election results.

Could end up hurting the Republicans more than just letting the N.J. election proceed as is. Hell, I would think that the Republican candidate right now has more votes in his back pocket than Lautenberg does.

GOP would be better served trying to save their seats in Arkansas and New Hampshire.
