You can have as good of standard of living without having exactly the same life style.

I agree with Neo that it is possible for 6 billion people to live on the earth with a standard of living that is as good or better then that of a typical American with technological progress and a greater move to the free market. I'd go even further and say it is quite possible for many times the worlds current population to be much wealthier then the typical American assuming continued technological and economic progress and a avoidance of major disasters like a large world war or an asteroid impact.
