All high end homes today have the following configuration -

DVD/CD/Radio/VCR player in basement/some room serving multimedia to the whole house giving the ability to watch movies/listen to audio on any video/audio outlet in the house and also ability to control the outputs as if the playback device was right there.

People are paying thousands of dollars for such things. The PC is not really there in any of this except in a few homes. If the PC can get into this space, we can make a case for new demand. It may not look like what you see today - however, it will be there.

Do you consider PS2/XBox as something which will cause a new demand for PCs? You may not think so - however, really speaking these are PCs from 3-4 years ago - just specialized devices that's all...
