He is history. There is no compromise with him. Totally onboard. However, to institute a democracy in Iraq afterwards MUST be the goal. From now on, US shouldn't pre-emptively attack any country without the end goal of installing a democracy. With that in mind, we need other nations who can help out in democracy-building. The compromise is with them.
The compromise can be that there will be an automatic meeting to discuss the violation and decision will be taken right away. I think that if there are 100 rules specified and some really minor one is broken, should we really attack Iraq on that basis? I think prudence like a second resolution makes sense. I bring this up only because Bush went to the UN. He didn't have to - he could have attacked based on prior violations. However, it is common courtesy to give one last warning...
