Dr. Willson stated, "It is a great honor to win the EMMY for my work -- but the real credit for Plasma Displays must be shared with those who continued the development work at the University of Illinois and in industry for the last 36 years." Dr. Willson added, "It has been encouraging to see the cooperation among American research institutions, American engineers and overseas corporations to successfully introduce the first commercial large area Plasma Display products."

Sterling Phillips, President and Chief Executive Officer of Analex, said, "Analex extends its congratulations to Dr. Willson for his remarkable technological achievements." He added, "We believe this unique recognition highlights the potential technical synergy between our national security efforts and society in general."

Dr. Willson received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1966. It was for his doctoral work on Plasma Display Panels that he received the EMMY Award. He subsequently worked at Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Northrop Grumman Corporation, in areas ranging from Electro Optics -- researching low light level television systems and human vision -- to Radar Systems Engineering -- performing system research and analysis in support of national security. Dr. Willson joined SyCom Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Analex, as a professional engineer, following his retirement from Northrop Grumman in 1997. Dr. Willson was ordained by the Light of Christ Community Church and the International Council of Community Churches in 1990.
