Because we have a more successful, rational society than they do, and therefore superior values.
But that in itself is a value judgment based on our values.
By our standards, our society is more successful and rational.
But not necessarily by theirs.
If their values cherish order and male domination, and they think a superior society is one in which everything is ordered and males dominate, and they think material possessions are not only unnecessary but undesirable, and they think freedom of speech and thought are negative things, then by their value system their society is far superior to ours, and ours is the decadent one.
And there is NO way, absent resort to a higher authority, to say which of us is right and which wrong.
That's the point you seem to be, surprisingly to me, incapable of comprehending. And I don't know why. |
