Martha Stewart resigns as NYSE board member

NEW YORK, Oct 3 (Reuters) - Martha Stewart, the embattled home decorating expert at the center of an insider-trading probe, has resigned from the board of the New York Stock Exchange just four months after taking the post, the exchange said on Thursday.

The announcement was made after a routine NYSE board meeting in New York. It represents the latest public setback for Stewart, who is under investigation for selling nearly 4,000 shares of ImClone Systems Inc. (IMCL) last December, one day before the biotech concern disclosed damaging news.
