Double dipper in progress, it seems.

Sales

3Q01 $1.212B
4Q01 1.513B
1Q02 1.302B
2Q02 1.388B
3Q02 1.250B

The 7% headcount reduction should bring the break-even point somewhere between $1.35B to $1.45B or something like an additional $100M reduction in quarterly operating expenses.

The real news is that the 250M share buyback should be enough to start the downward trend in share count from 2.2B to 1.9+B shares.

POTENTIAL COST OF 250M SHARE BUYBACK

250M x $2.50 = $ 625M
250M x $5.00 = $1.25B
250M x $7.50 = $1.88B

EMC Cash/Marketable Securities - $5.6B
