re: FLEX handset activities ---

==========

<snip> from FLEX: SSB Highlights From 2002 Analyst Day

The other element of Flextronics' strategy that was well fleshed out was its intention to develop its capabilities as an ODM (original design manufacturer) for certain products, including mobile phones. In that connection, we heard more details about its "Phone One" initiative, which is its first ODM product. This is a low-end GSM phone of Flextronics' own design, which it contends will carry a lower price than any phone currently available. Flextronics revealed that it has its first customer for the product, which it did not disclose, and that revenue from the product would be realized in the December quarter. Another fairly significant incremental disclosure was that it is currently developing a low-end CDMA phone in conjunction with Qualcomm, which no longer offers mobile phones, to our knowledge.
