Cap, If you look, you will find that the ancient Hebrews, very seldom rode camels, if at all. Their major mode of transportation was the ass, or donkey. Moses, definitely, did not ride a camel, but walked through the desert for 40 years as did most of his followers. Also, neither Moses, nor his followers, were Jews. They were Hebrews. The name Jew was a device of the Romans when they conquered, and began to rule the area that is now Israel. That land was divided into two areas containing the 12 tribes of Israel. One area was Israel, and the other was Judea. From the name of the area of Judea, the Romans fashioned the name "Jew".
An important point, is that the Jews no longer ride any beast of burden, including camels, while the palestinians, and many other Moslem groups have not progressed as far as the Jews. |
