I think essentially Petrol is right about what to expect next; but- time frames are very difficult to predict too far in advance; bear market rallies will come out of nowhere (there is always someone thinking this HAS GOT to be the bottom..).

What makes it difficult for me to see time frames intelligently is my own bias; it works something like this: I have just realized after some careful and extensive research that the market should get to point X. I don't really think it will get there right away, but somehow it all of the sudden becomes difficult to take moves in the other direction very seriously..surely, I tell myself, everyone else must be seeing what I am so this could not be a big move if it's going the other way. This tendency seems to compress the perception of timeframes for me.

In light of such mussings, "Call The Nasdaq Bottom, 2002" should be interesting. I think the person calling for a December low (Petrol?) has a good chance to be right..
