Ok TB here's the WSJ story on materiel build-up. Imo the "final" US troop disposition will be a lot larger than 70,000. Don't forget the US can "surge" a few divisions on short notice. Also, the article does not mention how many British troops will be involved, neither does it mention the potential dispostion of "other" allies including locals. I expect the Brits may ultimately be willing to commit a full armored division. Not trivial. If two or three US divisions are surged, then the combined US/allied forces will amount to something shy of Pollacks minimum 200 k number but certainly much greater than "Gulf War Lite."

To me, the most interesting part of the article described the "leafletting" of Iraqi troops and that three to four carrier groups are being readied for duty in the Gulf. Imo these are clear signs that hostilities will commence in earnest sometime this winter.
