OK, i didn't need two days.

cumulative cash flow from ops last 3 years (1999-2001)
$314mm (that was in the bull economy)

cumulative cash outflow for new trucks and other equipment last 3 years (1999-2001)
$256mm

they also bought a company (Arnold Trucking) for $400mm +/-.

cash flow first two quarters of this year $25mm, and they spent $20mm on PP&E.

so net net in bull and bear markets these guys produce almost no free cash.

hey, anybody know about workers comp in the trucking business? i hear workers comp rates are going through the ROOF; i imagine that would be a big expense for a trucking company.

$300mm debt, 2x book value, economic activity possibly declining, low ROA / ROE. looks good to me <g>

Cheers
