I don't think I share this ethical vision, but I don't actually have any problems with it the way you state it. At least if it is a reasonable and decent person that is determing what is in his or her enlightened self interest. Of course if you have an indecent and unreasonable person it might not matter much what ethical theories they start with. Good night, have a greater dinner.
