" The largest brown trout ever taken was hooked recently in Arkansas, U.S.A., weighing just over 40 pounds." gov.ns.ca Don't have a link right now, but Lake Taupo, NZ also claim the largest brown...caught in a trib of Lake Taupo, at 52 pounds...but..there are no pictures or documented weights.. From personal experience around there, I can tell you, there are some monster browns and rainbows in the double digits....but try to get a fly to those suckers...they hang in the undercuts, slow current, lots of deadfall and snags..you can see them, but...ya they can see you too.
