They don't have to "buy into it", but WHATEVER they buy into, it may not necessarily be what you would peddle, if you were hawking your personal world view- so it is best to acknowledge that you know about relativism, so as not to immediately alienate whatever portion of your class might turn off. I'm not peddling relativism, I am peddling the idea that I know about it, and that they need to make their own judgments. I do not think you understood that. That is the way I read CH's post too. If he meant something else, I've no idea what that was.
