IE 4.0 beta is risky business
news.com
If you're raring to download the just-released version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft(MSFT), be aware that the browser could be quite a shock to your system.

"I would never run it at home," said one high-tech company's research and development director who asked not to be named. "It's still very beta."
For example, beta testers should beware that IE 4 doesn't work with at least four online services: America Online, CompuServe, AT&T, even Microsoft's own MSN.

one user reported loss of cut-and-paste capabilities and double-clicks
changed to single clicks, for example--or wipe out your hard drive completely and force you to reinstall Windows.

NC and Java where are you, we need you, consumers are not happy with MS.
