Other than the geological ignorance, this plan also has the problem that the rest of the world will look at it the same way as they look at Israel's addition of lands by conquering. While I find the speculation to be amusing, some might read this sort of thing and conclude that the world has returned to its pre WW2 standard of might is right. No, for better or worse, the national lines in the Middle East are more or less permanent. And I don't think it would be the best real politik if the US were to pursue a course of action that resulted in the unification of Arab countries, by force or any other reason. It's a lot easier to deal with these guys when they're not a big place. -- Carl
