Nothing new here: Christianity was borne from Judaism. Both share the Old Testament and Jesus was Jewish. The Resurrection - the Christian belief that Jesus ascended into Heaven demonstrating he was the true Prophet and Son of God - separates Christianity and Judaism. That American Evangelicals are very supportive of Israel should be no surprise to anyone. Most Christians support Jews and the Jewish state and both share a common history.

As for the Palestinians - they apparently don't think enough of themselves to have one of their own lead them - so they turn to the Egyptian terrorist Arafat. His leadership has been a disaster, yet they still follow him like blind sheep. I have to believe that there is at least one Palestinian - somewhere - who is capable of leading them. Palestinians have been offered statehood twice now (1948, 2001) and have rejected it both times. If the Arabs hadn't launched surprise attacks on Israel in 1967 and 1973, then Israel would not be in control of the Golan Heights and the West Bank. All the Arabs have been doing for the last 30 years is behaving like cry babies. There has never been a Palestinian "state", and for them to say that "their" land is occupied is just playing with rhetoric.
