Most older investors I know have been out of the market and in more conservative investments, especially if they have very little room to lose.

The group to watch are the 52-58 year olds, as they are nearing retirement and have lots to lose, especially if they were contemplating early retirement. Most I know in that age range have been holding, thinking things won't get much worse.
