There is a new report by the Aberdeen Group about the CIS market. It's about a privately held company, Silkenet Software, that has brought out the first software in the industry that is Web-based by initial design. Because it was designed from the ground up for use on the public network (as opposed to all the other software that became Web-based after the fact), the concept is that any customers with a browser help themselves. In some cases the need for a call center is eliminated. Aberdeen thinks the software is 12 to 18 months ahead of anything else in the industry and will radically change the marketplace.
