Oh yeah, the Longshoreman strike. Didn't think you would reap the rotten fruits of your labor so quickly, did you?

$110k a year is within reach of the non-hollywood folks if you are a lawyer, politician, or deal meth on the side. Home ownership is out of reach for 80% of my fellow citizens. To top that off, we have a rather onerous state income tax system aggravated by the IPP industry now that we are back in the red again. Gotta maintain some level of social services over here and keep Sempra from leaving our public schools without electricity.

Well, in your defense, it was easy to paint us as energy guzzlers by Republican cronies for the energy industry. Exact opposite was the real truth. Apparently, you are oblivious to the climate patterns over here. My A/C has been put into service for a total of three days so far since January.

How about you?

Unionized service employees in southern CA enjoy a salary range from 30 to 50k a year which goes towards rents averaging from $900 for a 1-bedroom to $1600 for a 2-bedroom or $2,100 to rent a 3-bedroom house.

This is the way it works... Grocery store employees used their union to hike salaries so they can pay their mortgage/rent and their exploding electric bill. Grocery stores jacked prices to accommodate inflation including their 8-fold explosion in utility bills while upgrading their refer equipment to permanently cut their consumption.

Service workers including dockworkers are using their union to try to stay ahead of inflation including their jacked-up utility bills, the jacked up grocery utility bills and just about everything else IPP's have harmed.

Shipping companies, caught between a rock and inflated gas prices, are claiming the longshoremen are bleeding them dry and have forced union longshoremen to strike.

So, it practically gives me an orgasm to tell you to prepare for a long hard winter of overpriced rotten veggies at the Houston Safeway.

Our climate guarantees backyard tomatoes and solar electric production year round. So, I really don't have much to worry about.
