Al: As far as I know, the BBN acquisition is a done deal--I don't know the specifics, but since GTE paid cash and there isn't any kind of anti-trust problem, I think it's completed. Remember the company warned that profits would be impacted for a year or two with all these new purchases and build-outs of the network so the stock may not see much strength for awhile, maybe not until these assets are digested enough to give some perspective. Actually, I never dreamed I'd ever be an (UGH) GTE investor but I've changed my mind about this company--management seems to have a good grip on what needs to be done to grow this business into this new era of competition. In the long run, I believe that this will be a good core holding for any long term investor. :)
