I think you live a happier life if you give credit to people for even doing the minimum, and of course you are not going to be wiped out if they don't do it. YOu can decide certain behaviors are not optional, but I'm not sure it will make you any happier, nor will it make you effective dealing with people who do not understand your expectations. Flies and honey, Neo. Praise and gratitude, even for a certain minimum, often gets you more than the minimum. Expecting the minimum as your due, seems thoughtless and uncaring(to me). This is just the way I look at things. I do not see the happiness and utility of looking at things the way you do.
