The real mistake in Europe was not in 1939--it was much earlier when a rather weak germany re-occupied the Rhineland. Stopping Saddam now, prevents a Munich later or a WMD disaster for all parties. As far as Cary goes, don't confuse his policy on iraq with his visceral hatered of Bush. That hatred as far more to do with Carys domestic left wing views. I think Cary is for the French two-step plan. I see value in that plan now too in order to get the UN aboard when push does come to shove and to secure US opinion which also wants a coalition effort. Bushes skill at adopting Carys policy just makes Cary more pissed off. Mike
