bellweather in the telecomm/datacomm semis. from the MCHP earning report: "As Microchip resumed growth in sales during the June quarter, we believe we have seen the end of the inventory correction activity at our customers which began in the previous quarter," said Steve Sanghi, Microchip president and chief executive officer. "Microchip was one of the first companies in the semiconductor industry to recognize and announce the inventory correction phenomenon and we were also one of the first companies to respond to the situation with a variety of actions to rightsize the company," added Sanghi. "It stands to reason that Microchip should now be one of the first companies to signal an end to the inventory correction activity."
