October 08, 2002 1:21:00 PM ET

ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 2002--MigraTEC announced support for the Microsoft Solution for UNIX Migration program, unveiled today at MEC 2002. MigraTEC's 32Direct(TM) UNIX-to-Windows automated migration solution helps customers migrate their mission-critical UNIX applications to Windows.

Microsoft's new initiative is aimed at assisting customers with the migration of UNIX applications to the Windows platform, giving them a lower total cost of ownership and the flexibility of an industry-standard operating system.

"Enterprise customers are increasingly asking how they can move their entire environment to Windows in order to lower their total cost of ownership," said Doug Miller, director of the Microsoft Solution for UNIX Migration, Microsoft. "MigraTEC's technology provides a smooth transition process for customers choosing to go with a native migration approach in moving from UNIX to Windows."

32Direct's automated source code analysis technology greatly reduces the time and cost of a UNIX-to-Windows application migration. 32Direct provides a comprehensive overview of an application's migration issues, ensuring that the project remains on schedule and on budget.

"MigraTEC is proud to have been chosen by Microsoft as a key partner in the Solution for UNIX Migration program," said Wes Blair, vice president of sales and marketing, MigraTEC. "Migrating UNIX source code to native Windows code is critical to attaining all the benefits and lower total cost of ownership of a Microsoft Windows environment. Only MigraTEC provides an automated solution to predictably and efficiently migrate C or C++ UNIX applications to native Windows applications."
