The economy is faltering because of the huge run-up in national debt during the 90's (debt grew at twice the rate of the economy). My guess is that we are looking at years of a very slow economy, as consumers grapple with huge debt and falling real estate prices. For one to think that the bubble (stocks, and real estate) of the late 90's could continue is really stupid. At some point, credit cards started maxing out, and people stopped spending. Neither Clinton, Gore, Bush, or Greenspan could have prevented this. And none of them (nor any other politician) seems to understand the significance of the problem.

Now, I never claimed to be the sharpest knife in the drawer, so you tell me. What can be done to get our economy growing again between now and the time that we deal with the debt problem? Just what could Mr. Gore or any other leader do to resolve the staggering level of national debt? Have you observed Japan for the last 10 years. Then perhaps you might understand that current economic situation.
