Sir,
We were suppose to have to go "door to door" with blood running in the streets of Bagdad in 1991.
Blood did run in the sand, however...just not American blood.
Did not happen then...will not this time.
I was there in 90-91. The "million man army" was a farce. What a turkey shoot. (just pick your target, squeeze the trigger and watch it go BOOM...all from five miles away.
They will lose quickly, we will occupy for awhile then come home to more parades. We liked all the parades.
Saddam's fate? The same as Biny Ladden's...death, by our hands...eventually.
"Purely politically motivated" and "Body Bags".
First quote...wrong, nothing is pure.
Second quote...do you know how many direct conflict soldiers died in '91? More than half a million were involved. I suppose ONE is too many, right? Accidents killed several folks. The enemy got lucky with a scud.
We killed 50,000-100,000 thousand of their elite army thugs.
And yes, war is good business.
As to most of your rant...you missed the mark a lot more often than I ever missed exploding a tank, personnel carrier, truck or the poor souls inside.
I liked my work, but alas, have retired.
It will not be a war...more like a big, dusty execution.
Go back to your hand-wringing now. My buddies will protect you:)
