Bombardier Receives Q400 Turboprop Order From ANA Group

TORONTO, ONTARIO--OCTOBER 8, 2002 - 14:03 EDT
Bombardier Aerospace announced today that All
Nippon Airways (ANA) group of Tokyo, Japan has placed a firm order
for four Bombardier Q400* turboprop airliners. ANA is scheduled to
receive its first Bombardier Q400 in the summer of 2003 with
deliveries continuing through 2004.

ANA group's Bombardier Q400 aircraft will be operated by All
Nippon Network Co. Ltd. They will be based at Osaka's Itami
airport and initially fly between Osaka and Kochi, a distance of
115 nm (213 km).

"We selected the Bombardier Q400 to expand our fleet for reasons
of passenger comfort, reliability, and the aircraft's excellent
operating economics," said Yasushi Morohashi, executive
vice-president, All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd.

"We are delighted that ANA group has chosen the Bombardier Q400,"
said John Giraudy, president, Bombardier Regional Aircraft. "Japan
has become an increasingly important market for regional aircraft
and we are proud that our Bombardier Q* Series family of aircraft
is a popular choice for operations in Japan."

The order announced today increases to 21 the number of Bombardier
Q Series Dash(R) 8 aircraft ordered by five Japanese airlines, of
which 10 have been delivered. The ANA group accounts for nine of
the 21 aircraft ordered.

The Bombardier Q400 has proven that on short- and medium-length
regional airline routes the aircraft's operating economics and
profit potential are exceptional.

The Bombardier Q400, with 68 to 78 seats, is the largest capacity
aircraft in the Bombardier Aerospace turboprop family. Along with
the 37- to 39-seat Bombardier Q200* and 50- to 56-seat Q300*, the
Q400 offers an extremely quiet and low vibration cabin environment
thanks to its superb Noise and Vibration Suppression (NVS) system.
All three models share a common pilot type rating, common
maintenance procedures, and after-sales support.
