Gary >that's not the game, is it.
To be frank, I don't know what the game is. Sure, I've read about the Pax Americana, the American Empire and the lust for oil. Also about the Israeli lust for Palestinian land (as some see it). Nevertheless, something doesn't make sense to me.
If the US wanted to move against Iraq, it should have done so already. Waiting for UN approval, or whatever, means to procrastinate and wait forever. It's my feeling that the longer the US waits before doing what it wants to do, the less chance there is that it is going to do it. They didn't wait for anyone's approval before they hit Afghanistan. In fact, it was all set up before 911. Taliban and bin Laden etc was simply an excuse, or a ruse, just like Saddam's WMD. That's why I can't work out why they don't do it, unless, of course, they are frightened to --- or there's another agenda altogether.
Meanwhile, I hear that US imports of Iraqi oil have increased considerably which is another thing I don't understand. Why increase importation of Iraqi oil and therefore dependence on it when you intend shortly to interfere with its supply? Even if it is dirt cheap! |
