christine - la canada is the place close to pasadena i was referring
to. this could be eerie. nope, i will not trip on it. to continue,
i went to hs there. graduated in '76. i was the silent one who
wandered the halls, in one girl's description. i wasn't used to the
money and whiteness. i went there from bakersfield and a very different
enviroment. but i have to admit that people were good to me there, i
just wasn't in the mood for it. a terrific location, though. straight
into the angeles national forest. hiking and sunday drives were right
there. i don't remember the name of the gardens in town, but i
hung out there a lot. it was a short walk from our house. if you visit
there and haven't been, i think you might enjoy it. a terrific place
for getting lost and having an adventure.

the things you mention about frank lloyd wright are the things i like
about his work. hmmm. i didn't live in one, but enjoy architecture
and my family used to go on drives exploring houses and neighborhoods.
my father got a kick out of what he calls the "silk stocking" area.

the folks went to costa rica. they had a wonderful, relaxing time.
they missed the turtles and heard but didn't see the monkeys so they
seem to think they need to go back. and the cat thinks she needs a
convertible mercedes. she won't let me forget that when i was 18 i
promised to buy her one when i made my first million. i thought it
was elephants that never forgot.

i'm glad you smiled. that was what i wished for. as for the meaning,
if you wish to discern it, you must ponder further.

maybe i'll try myst as the nights grow longer this year....
