I think she was a fairly twisted romantic, and her private life seemed very immoral by my standards- which are tough, I admit it. But they are my standards, and I am happy with them, and of course they only apply to me and how I look at the world and how I interact with it. No one else has a duty to look at things the way I do. I evaluate her books thinking that they are partly a justification for the way she chose to live her life. And since I don't really approve of the way she lived her life, I can't say I approve the justification. I also find them just bad novels, when I compare them to other works that I could be reading. Still though, an interesting person.
