Retirement is great for the easily amused. Allusions to purgatory notwithstanding, I've found my engagement with recent topics very useful. There's a piece of swordfish from my trip to Trader Joe's in a pan on the stove. Haven't had anything to eat yet today. Yesterday was the same. Between my cold and my busy fingers, I've lost six pounds since we started this discussion. I consider that a good thing.

While I was at Trader Joe's, I managed to stop a fender bender. Mercedes number 1 was almost totally backed out of her parking space when Mercedes number two, right behind her, started out. I jumped out behind two, right in the middle of his rear view mirror, put up my right hand just like an old crossing guard, and yelled "stop," which two did just two inches away from one's right rear fender. And I bought a bottle of blueberry juice. I'd never seen that before.

Like I said, easily amused.
